Movie Madness on Thursday, April 8, will feature a film about an American astronaut who lands on a planet planning to plant a flag and return home. Instead, he finds a civilization remarkably similar to our own. Only there, he's the alien being hunted by the government. The movie, which is rated PG, will begin at 4 pm.

Friends of the Parker Williams Library Board President Ed Jackson and library staff this month installed an additional chair rail in the library's program room for a future room makeover. (Right, above) Assistant Branch Librarian Candi uses a nail gun to fasten the new rail to the wall. The room renovations are being funded by the Friends group, which raises money from its book sales for library programs and special projects. The next Friends of the Parker Williams Library book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 27.

Fire Safety

Children at Wednesday's preschool storytime at Parker Williams Branch Library learned about fire safety and made a fire truck craft.

The library has preschool storytimes featuring books, crafts, songs and fingerplays each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The storytimes are designed for children ages 3-6 and their chaperones. Toddler storytimes for younger children are at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Thursdays. Family storytimes are at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.  

Game Day

Join us at 4 pm this Thursday for Game Day at Parker Williams. Game days are a chance for school-aged children and their chaperones to play board games together and with other children. Tickets are not required.

When You Wish Upon a Rock...

Join us for Movie Madness at 4 pm this Thursday, Feb. 25, when we will show a movie about a rock that grants wishes when it falls from the sky. As the rock bounces from person to person around a suburban town, wishes come true in the weirdest ways and kids must find a way to save the town from itself. The movie is rated PG.
