Free Computer Classes

The following computer classes will be offered beginning April 25th.

Internet Basics I and II, presented on Wednesday, April 25 and May 2, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.  This class will cover how the Internet works, how to use a search engine, and how to perform various tasks using Internet software.    

Internet Security, presented on Wednesday, May 9, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.  You must take Internet Basics I and II before taking this class. You will be shown tips and tricks about using and finding software to help you improve your PC's internet security.

Congratulations to two new citizens

Congratulations to Tuyet Le (seated, left) and Ai Khinh Hua (seated, right), who recently interviewed to become U.S. citizens. Both passed their interview exams and attended the oath ceremony this past March. Tuyet and Ai Khinh are students in ESL classes with Linh Nguyen (standing, middle), who volunteers at the library each Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m., and also on Saturday mornings, when students focus more on government and history questions for the citizenship interview.  

GED class begins soon

Does lack of a high school diploma prevent you, or someone you know, from moving forward in your work? If so, there is an opportunity to overcome that hurdle.  College of the Mainland, which sponsors a free preparation class for the General Educational Development test at the library, will host registration on April 5 from 10 a.m.
