Harris County Libraries Serve as Warming Centers

Residents seeking shelter from the frigid temperatures can head to their local library.  All 25 Harris County branch libraries will open at 9 am on Friday, January 8 and Saturday, January 9 to serve as warming centers for the public.

Closing hours will vary depending on the branch.

The Job Search Seminar

Resumes were discussed at the first seminar presented by Workforce Solutions at 10am Tuesday January 12th.

January Storytimes

January is one of the coldest months of the year, but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck at home watching T.V. All of the children's programs this month encourage lots of participation in physical activity. Stories read at regular storytimes will all be interactive, inviting you to get up and dance, stretch, shake and be silly. So put on your tennis shoes and comfortable clothes and join us for some fun and energetic play at the library.

New Year's Resolutions

Planning to do something different in 2010?  Exercise more, eat better, quit smoking?  Consider stopping by the library to pick up a few motivational books to help you keep the momentum moving toward your goal.

Story times for Christmas and New Year's weeks

Because the library will be closed on Thursday, December 24th in observance of Christmas Eve, there will be no storytime on that day. There will, however be regular storytimes for babies and toddlers on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning storytime for toddlers and preschool age children will resume on Thursday, December 31st.
