Spring Branch-Memorial Library -- The Page Turners

Title to be discussed: Shakespeare: The World as StageShakespeare: The World as Stage by Bill Bryson.  Date of meeting: Tuesday, May 13, 6:30pm.  Summary: "Bryson offers a portrait of the Bard, presented in the style of a travelogue based on interviews with actors, the curator of Shakespeare's birthplace, and academics. The account also shares the author's recollections of his own adventures in Stratford-upon-Avon."

Are you a Book-aneer?

Now that “the spring has sprung,” you may want to spend more time outdoors (well, maybe after the city’s trees’ pollen production has subsided).  If so, why not plan one of your walks or trips to the park around a visit to the library? Whether you want to introduce your “little ones” to the wonderful realm of books, or whether they already love reading (or being read to), an escapade to one of our library’s storytimes may be quite an adventure!  Last week, Mrs. Donna talked about seeds and gardening, and this week, she will try to introduce you to her favorite pirates, and she promises they won’t be (too) scary.  Plus, she always shares with you some of her other beloved books.

So don’t dilly-dally!  We have the perfect times for you—after-breakfast and right-before-lunch:
