A Big Thanks to our Summer Volunteers!

The Stratford Library would like to recognize all the volunteers that came out this summer to help make our Summer Reading Program a success!  From fundraising to cleaning to baking to heavy lifting and more, our summer wouldn't have been the same with you.  For that, the library and the community thanks you!

July is the Month of Cooking

Adult Programming gets tasty at Stratford this July.  We will be offering several cooking related programs:

Cooking Online Computer Class: Thur, July 12 at 11:30 am

Learn how to search recipes, create a virtual recipe box, utilize ratings and tips, and input your own creations online to save and calculate the nutritional information.

Cookbook Potluck: Wed, July 18 at 1:00 pm

Let's share recipes! Choose a favorite cookbook or try something new and check out one at the library. Then get the chance to swap samples with other cookbook adventurers! Small first and second place prizes will be awarded for best dishes.

Meet Evelyn

Evelyn Wotipka is a Texas native, growing up in the Crosby/Highlands area.  She has 2 children, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and –until recently – she also had a disdain for computers.  When Stratford began offering computer classes last fall, Evelyn was one of the first to sign up, although the staff were instructed not to let anyone one know she was willing to use one of those pesky computers.  “I don’t want anyone to know I’ve finally agreed to touch that thing.”
