Happy Birthday to the Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Thank you to everyone who came for storytime during spring break this week! It was great to see you all and celebrate St. Patrick's Day with you.  Next week, we will be reading a story or two by Eric Carle, since March 20th will be the 42nd anniversary of the publishing of the Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Eric Carle's pictures are made by collage using painted paper, which is what accounts for the saturated colors you see. You can read about it here. His main website can be found here. Hope you will join us!  Baby time 10:15, Toddler time 10:40 on Thursday.

TWEAKING OUR BRANCH

Springtime is a great time to deep-clean our houses. The nice weather entices us to refresh our surroundings. Cleaning and organizing our spaces brings renewal and satisfaction. In a sense, that is what we have been doing at Stratford Library. We have been refreshing our look by making better usage of our shelving spaces. Books have shifted a little and we have added signage to help you find the books you are looking for.

St. Patrick's Day!

Next week at Toddler Story Time, we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Feel free to wear green, and we will make some "shamrock shakes." We'll play St. Patrick's Day hot potato and Lucky Leprechaun says.  See you there!

I'M BE-PUZZLED

One of my favorite pasttimes is putting puzzles together. I have discovered many of our customers who also like doing puzzles and often have made arrangements to meet someone at the library to exchange an armload of their puzzles with each other. There have also been a lot of sllightly used puzzles to purchase from the Friends of the Library. Are you a puzzle person? Help us put together a puzzle while you visit with a friend and meet some new friends any time we are open. There will be a puzzle board with an ongoing puzzle on it. A specific puzzle day that is set aside is each Wednesday - ALL DAY! Come in as early as 10:00 a.m. and stay as long as you want until 6:00 p.m. Or come and go when it fits your schedule.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss~!

This upcoming Wednesday, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss's birthday. All across the country, it is celebrated also as "Read Across America" day. To celebrate, on Thursday, during storytime at 10:40, we will be having a very special Dr. Seuss themed morning.
