THE STRATFORD STAFF SHARES THEIR FAVORITES

Ever wonder what the Stratford Staff likes to read? We want to share with you our favorite genres and authors - at this moment. Our favorites change from time to time.

Hansel & Gretel

Do you enjoy stories of deep forests, evil witches and small children?  Not to mention houses made of gingerbread and frosting?  Then mark your calendars to join us on Monday, October 12th, 10:30 a.m. at the San Jacinto Community center in Highlands for a free performance of Hansel & Gretel by the Houston Opera to Go.  The small traveling group of performers visited us here in Highlands earlier this year when they performed a 45 minute updated version of Romeo & Juliet.  I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable musical performances that I have ever attended!

BE AWARE! BE PREPARED!

How prepared were you when Ike came roaring through the neighborhood? What did you do and not do? What will you do differently next time? When you attend the Hurricane Preparedness program this coming Monday, September 14 at 6:30, you will find out the most recent ways to be prepared the next time an "Ike" hits us.
