The Paintings of Linnie Baird

Next time you’re in the library drop into our meeting room, Room L 129, and enjoy the paintings of Linnie Baird. Born in Alabama, Baird finally got to Texas in her early twenties and has been delighted to be here ever since. You’ll be amazed to learn she’s been painting for only seven years, having taken up a family painting tradition only after her artist father died.  She paints in oils and pen and ink, with a distinctly Texas style. She's equally at home with painting architecture, landscape ( in both Texas and Colorado), and figures.

Kids Garden Club Earn Golden Ray Certificates

Congratulations to Tomball Library Children's Garden Club members Evan K., Rosabella C., Riley K. and Sarina C. for completing all the requirements necessary to earn their Soil and Water Certificates. The girls along with the rest of the garden club, learned about soil properties, composting and the water cycle this semester as well as planting and caring for a garden. In addition, to meet the service project requirements, the group collected can goods to donate which were donated to a local food bank. Garden Club Meetings will begin again every 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month in March.
