Happy the Clown visiits

        Happy the Clown will entertain children next Wednesday, August 1 at 3 PM, upstairs in the Library.  There will be music, jokes, silliness and balloon animals.  Plan to attend this fun program as part of the Summer Reading Program.

 

Our final summer program will be Sharks and Rays on Wednesday August 8.

Visiting mammals

   A lion-head bunny was a featured guest at the mammal program Wednesday, presented by The Traveling Naturalist.  Children also got to meet a pygmy hedgehog, an albino chichilla, a small boa constrictor and a dove.

 

Next week's program is Origami for children ages 5 to 12 years old.  The program will be at 3 PM, upstairs in the Children's section.

Dinosaurs

    Dr. Neal Immega brought along some dinosaur bones, teeth and fossils to share with the young audience this week.  Children asked questions about what happened to the dinosaurs and were able to identify various species by their claws or teeth.  Inda Immega helped children origami-fold paper triangles to fashion dinosaur claws.  Children took home their claws and shark teeth.

 

Next week's program is about turtles and tortoises.  Debbie Parrish will bring an assortment of rescued tortoises for us to examine and meet up close.  That program will be on Wednesday at 3 PM in the library.

Great Ferret Program

  142 people enjoyed meeting the ferrets on Wednesday.  They learned a lot of interesting facts and got to hold and pet an assortment of ferrets from the Houston Area Ferret Association.

 

Next week's program will explore the mystery of - What happened to the dinosaurs ?  That program will be on Tuesday July 3 at 3 PM, upstairs in the Library.

The Ferrets are Coming !

   The Ferrets are Coming !  Next Wednesday, at 3 PM, meet many of Librarian Libby's family of ferrets.  Learn about these fun creatures, cheer as they compete in a couple of contests and meet them up close and personal.  The program will be in the auditorium at the Senior Center, next door to the Library.  Get ready for some wiggly fun.
