Dinosaurs

    Dr. Neal Immega brought along some dinosaur bones, teeth and fossils to share with the young audience this week.  Children asked questions about what happened to the dinosaurs and were able to identify various species by their claws or teeth.  Inda Immega helped children origami-fold paper triangles to fashion dinosaur claws.  Children took home their claws and shark teeth.

 

Next week's program is about turtles and tortoises.  Debbie Parrish will bring an assortment of rescued tortoises for us to examine and meet up close.  That program will be on Wednesday at 3 PM in the library.

Great Ferret Program

  142 people enjoyed meeting the ferrets on Wednesday.  They learned a lot of interesting facts and got to hold and pet an assortment of ferrets from the Houston Area Ferret Association.

 

Next week's program will explore the mystery of - What happened to the dinosaurs ?  That program will be on Tuesday July 3 at 3 PM, upstairs in the Library.

The Ferrets are Coming !

   The Ferrets are Coming !  Next Wednesday, at 3 PM, meet many of Librarian Libby's family of ferrets.  Learn about these fun creatures, cheer as they compete in a couple of contests and meet them up close and personal.  The program will be in the auditorium at the Senior Center, next door to the Library.  Get ready for some wiggly fun.

Mystery Craft Fun

    The Mystery Craft program was a big success.  Children had 4 crafts to create - a mask, invisible writing, pretend binoculars and fingerprint art.  The photo shows the fingerprint station which was the most popular craft.

We had a teen program Tuesday, in which 3 teens attended and created their own beaded bracelet.

 

Next Wednesday, magician Steve Burton will entertain  the audience during his magic show.  It will be at 3 PM in the Senior Center auditorium.  Prepare to be amazed.

Our summer programs have started

  Our first program featuring all kinds of snakes was a big hit.  131 people attended to learn about snakes.  They  were able to touch them and have their photo taken with a large python.  

Next week at 3 PM on Wednesday, we will have a mystery craft program for children ages 5 to 12 years.

Tuesday there will be a Teen Craft program for teens 10 to 15 years.  We'll create beaded bracelets.
