Hurricane Preparedness

The Office Of Homeland Security & Emergency Management will present a workshop on hurricane preparedness, on Monday, September 21st at 6:15pm.  Learn your responsibilities during a hurricane, get evacuation tips, and find out if your disaster emergency kit is adequate. 

The program will be held in the reading room of the West University Branch. 


Hispanic Heritage Month Trivia Contest

September 15-October 6

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at West University.  Enter our trivia contest and test your knowledge on all matters relating to Latin American history and culture.  Fill out our ballot and drop it in the box.  If you answer all of our questions correctly, you may win a gift certificate to a restaurant!

The drawing for the winnining entries will be held on October 7th and the winners will be contacted.


Book Club Selection for October 7

We held our first book club meeting on September 2nd, and had a wonderful discussion of the book "On Agate Hill," by Lee Smith.  We will meet again on October 7th, and we have chosen to read "The Group," by Mary McCarthy.  Please join us at 11:00 am, at Senior Services if you would like to participate!

During the heat emergency this summer, branches opened at 10 AM Monday-Friday. Regular hours resume for all branch locations on Tuesday, September 8.  Regular hours are listed on each branch page as well as the main locations page.
