Patriotic Movie in Honor of Veteran's Day - Friday, November 11

In honor of Veteran's Day, Friday, November 11, the Barbara Bush Branch Library will show a patriotic movie for Senior Classic Movie Morning. The movie from 1943 stars Claudette Colbert and Paulette Goddard. It is the true story of Army nurses who are assigned to Hawaii in 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, they are then sent to Bataan in the Philippines.

The movie will be shown in the Earl Elliott Room at 10:00 am. Come and enjoy the movie and some treats, and help us honor the Vets.

Tuesday, November 8 at 6:30 Tim Novak, director of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, will present a lecture on Lalique and Art Glass  of the 19th and 20th Centuries at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts.

Tim Novak did his graduate work in art glass. He has organized over 70 exhibitions to date on glass and American art.

Native American Artist Exhibit at the Library

The Barbara Bush Branch library is honored to have an exhibit from the Garden of the Dragonfly Gallery in Old Town Spring. The exhibit features three artists, Dani Palmierie-Shafer, Yvonne Denbina, and Mary Chimarusti.Mary Chimarusti - Painted Native American Drum
