Thirty-five years later, the students return to pay tribute to the teacher and mentor who changed their lives. Sounds like a Hollywood heart-warmer, right?.  What if the movie was set right here in Houston?  What if it wasn’t “based on a true story,” but absolutely true?

Kashmere Reunion Stage Band

band photoProduced by Oscar winning actor, Jamie Foxx, Thunder Soul is a documentary film about Houston’s famed Kashmere Gardens Band Director, Professor Conrad Johnson.  Available for DVD release this February, the the film is about the world famous stage band of 1970’s. Foxx is currently filming and producing the movie version of the film.
