The Epic Return of Game On!

Mario StencilI’ve had several of our Freeman teens asking about when our gaming programs would begin again. Well the wait is over! We have two upcoming gaming programs in February: Thursday, February 10th and Thursday February 24th. Join us in the Zone after school for video games, board games, card games, snacks, and more!

Are there particular games you like and think we should have here at Freeman? Leave us a comment, visit us at the library and talk with Ash or Meredith, or consider joining the Teen Advisory Board!

Valentine's Day Storytimes

Get ready for Valentine's Day by joining us for Valentine's Day themed storytimes this week.  The Toddler Time, Preschool, and Family Night programs will all feature Valentine's Day stories and a craft.  So you can celebrate Valentine's Day to your heart's content.

Also, you still have a few more days to show how much you love Texas libraries.  We have cards that you can fill out to let your state representative know your library love story.  The cards will be collected through Thursday, February 10.

Black History Month Displays @ Freeman

February is Black History Month, and here at Freeman we’re lucky enough to benefit from the work of the Gulf Coast Apollo Chapter of Links, Inc. who have created a wonderful display for our lobby entitled “Buffalo Soldiers, An American Legacy”.  Be sure to check it out on your way in or out of the library.

Come up to the 2nd floor and check out the "Faces of Harris County" display which showcases well known African Americans with ties to the Houston area.  We encourage you to add your own bio or that of somebody you’d like to honor to the display.  You’ll also find a list of resources that focus on African American history and genealogy.
