1,001 Books Before Kindergarten

Are you looking for a way to prepare your young child for Kindergarten?  Here's a fun way to get your child off to a good start.  Participate in the 1,001 Books Before Kindergarten program at Freeman Library.  This program is free and it allows you to work at your own pace.

Here's 3 easy steps to get started:

1) Pick up a reading log at the Kids Information Desk or download one from our website: http://kids.hcpl.net/pandt/1001BooksBeforeKindergarten.htm

2) Start reading!  Simply color one star each time you read a book.  Read it twice - count it twice and color a star for each time you read.  You can count library books, your own books, or books that we read in the storytimes.
