Freeman Library in cooperation with The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake (TAACL) is proud to announce the arrival of a new exhibition by local artist Jim Leen in our Internet Cafè and the Marge Jacobson Community Room, both located on the first floor of the library. 

April under 50 over

Last week, attendees of the under50over Programs enjoyed watching a movie as well as the coffee and snacks provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. 

The library will be closed this coming Friday, April 2nd, as well as Sunday, April 4th, in observance of the upcoming holidays. Girl Scout IP:E! - Women through Time workshop

The Girl Scout Interest Project: Exploration! program presented the "Women through Time" workshop this past Monday. Meredith Layton, the Young Adult Librarian, talked to the group about women's contributions to the visual arts as well as her background in Women's Studies and Art History. I (Jorie) talked about the founder of the Girl Scouts of America, Juliette Gordon Low.

This Friday @ your library

Last week, we enjoyed the joint program with Rosenberg Library, Galveston, TX and the Galveston Reads program. Poom Sunhachawi-Taylor of Rosenberg Library talked about Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam, Jr.

This coming Friday, March 26th, we will be seeing a movie, title to be announced. The movie starts at 10:15 am. Coffee and snacks are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. Register for Knitting 201!

Registration is open for Knitting 201: Intermediate Knitting Class!

  

Knitting 201 is a youth knitting class that expands knowledge on knitting techniques. Participants are expected to understand basic knitting skills such as: casting on, garter stitches, and binding off. The class is held every Wednesday night from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting on April 7 and ending on May 5. Suggested grades: 3rd grade through 8th grade.
