Stratford Library is located on Stratford. From I-10 E take the Highlands-San Jacinto State Park exit. Turn left onto the overpass; continuing into Highlands. Turn left onto Wallisville Rd, which is the first light after the first set of railroad tracks. Turn right onto Maple. Turn left onto Stratford. The library is on the left before you reach the park. The book club is headed to Robyn Carr's The House on Olive Street to read about the lives of four writers who are brought together by the death of a close friend. Sable: her bestselling novels have made her a star, but the woman who has everything, in fact, has nothing but a past she is desperate to hide. Elly: the intellectual who has hidden herself within the walls of academia, afraid to admit she is tired of being alone.
Only two more storytimes in November! We will be closed on Thursday, the 28th, so be sure not to miss the family storytimes on the 14th & the 21st!~ We will have some fun Thanksgiving activities and crafts on Thursday, the 21st.
The Stratford Branch was originally opened in a 1,200 square foot facility built in 1966. In 1985 Stratford was renovated and 1,500 square feet were added. The building is named in honor of Anna Stratford, who donated the property for the library.
