There is a mystery in The Dinosaur Feather but the main focus of this Danish novel is the character development. Anna Bella Nor is working furiously on her PhD dissertation. Then one of her academic advisors, Dr. Lars Helland, is found dead with her thesis on his lap. Anna deals with the police detective, and her toddler while she worries about her studies. Along the way she discovers some unsettling truths about her childhood, and then starts to investigate the murder herself. I enjoyed this award winning mystery and I’ll look forward to any future translations of S.J. Gazan’s work.
