AND THE WINNER IS…
Nan Smith of Baytown! The prize, a $50 Amazon gift card, was the result of a random computer drawing out of all of the adult readers at the Stratford Branch Library. To be eligible, the adults signed up for the 2009 Adult Summer Reading Program, called Reader Nation, and read a minimum of four books of their choice. The participants were also eligible for 3 county wide drawings featuring gift cards of $100, $150, and $200.Nan, a weekly visitor to the library, has been an avid reader all of her life, beginning at the age of 3. Some of her favorites while growing up were “The Shadow” and the “Nancy Drew” mystery series.
She still loves mysteries today, but she has also been utilizing the library’s resources for setting up her new business. The free internet at the library has allowed her to sell garden accessories on EBay, seller ID – TXBLFLWR, if you are interested in seeing any of the items currently for sale. Soon, she hopes to finish her own new website, which will be able to be accessed at www.TBFonline.com [2]
Nan is looking forward to spending her $50 Amazon gift card on more reading materials. Sarah Davis, who presented the gift card and is the branch manager here at Stratford Library hopes that you will come and participate in next year’s adult summer reading program!
