The La Porte winner of a $50.00 gift card to Amazon for participating and completing the Adult Summer Reading Program is Leveta Allen. Ms. Allen is a weekly visitor to the La Porte Community Library where she finds a range of books to enjoy. She was thrilled to be selected our winner and says she will be asking her granddaughter for guidance on using the Amazon gift card.
Ms. Allen has renewed her interest in reading in her retirement. She spent her career with Entex (now Reliant) as the office manager in Baytown. Now she enjoys reading a wide range of fiction but really enjoys mysteries and some science fiction.
Ms. Allen signed up for the program at the urging of a staff member. She has high praise for all the staff members at the library for their helpfulness and friendliness. When asked if she would sign up next year for the Adult Summer Reading Program, her answer was a resounding yes.
