The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month [3]organization is celebrating 25 years of awareness, education and empowerment. They have a great deal of information on their website.
Here at the library, we have many books to provide information on treatment, diet and nutrition and personal stories and inspiration. Some of the books I have on display are:
[4] First, You Cry [5] by Betty Rollin. A memoir of her life after she was diagnosed with breast cancer twenty-five years ago.
[6] Cancer is a Wo [7]rd, Not a Sentence [7] by Dr. Robert Buckman, MD. A guide to help those who are newly diagnosed.
[8] I Am Not My Breast Cancer [9] by Ruth A. Peltason. Dialogues from an online forum of women sharing their feelings about their disease.
There are many more books to provide information and inspiration.
