Even Sir Arthur Connan Doyle couldn’t kill him. But this is the end of my blogging about him, at least for now. Here are books by other authors that have taken the Sherlock Holmes story further. Titles like The Final Solution by Michael Chabon, A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin, and Mrs. Hudson and the Malabar Rose by Martin Davies, all look like fun. Carole Nelson Douglas has a whole series featuring Irene Adler, Holmes' female adversary. Spider Dance is one of those. Mike Ashley has edited New Sherlock Holmes Adventures , and Lyndsay Faye has written Dust and Shadow . For B movie type fun, you could always read Sherlock Holmes vs Dracula or Dr Jekyll and Mr. Holmes by Loren D. Estleman. Like all classics, Holmes inspires new writers all the time.
