At Tomball, we are not doing things “like we’ve always done them”. In the past, you could only find ‘Art’ in the nonfiction section of the library, but not anymore. Art is all over the library these days. The Tomball Art league had their paintings hung in the library just in time for our 5th birthday celebration. This exhibition can still be viewed on the walls of the 1st floor meeting room. The Northwest Harris County Porcelain Art Guild also participated in the birthday celebration by displaying their beautiful work in the 1st meeting room. Their work is on display in the 2nd floor library glass case. A traveling exhibition, “Once Upon a Time: Telling Stories through Clay” will be shared by The Museum of Fine Arts at our branch from Monday, February 1, 2010 through Monday, April 12, 2010. These are one-of-a-kind works of art that tell stories through clay—such as the plates, cups, teapots, and sculptures. Some are playful, others serious, some dreamy, others mysterious. We want to thank all of the art community for sharing their work with us. Come to the library to enjoy this aspect of our branch.
