First Ladies of the United States are often more interesting than their powerful husbands. Read a little about Dolly Madison or Mary Todd Lincoln, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. For a really interesting read, try Presidential Wives [2] by Paul F. Boller, Jr [3]. (an older book but well worth it). For something more up-to-date, try The First Ladies of the United States of America [4] by Allida Black [5].
