Celebration of Chinese New Year

The celebration of Chinese New Year begins today, January 29th, and ends February 20th. San Francisco, CA has the largest Chinese community and celebrates each lunar new year with a festival and parade. The celebration began in the 1860's as a way to educate the community about the Chinese culture. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people come out to celebrate the festival and parade.
