Over a million readers across the U.S. are expected to participate in the 22nd Annual African American Read-In. The Barbara Bush Library and The E.B.O.N.Y. organization will join forces as official sponsors of this event locally. The goal is to make the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.

turday, February 26, from 10:00 A.M.— 12:00 P.M. at the Barbara Bush Library, activities are planned for adults, teens, and children.
Authors Stella Alexander, Karen Brown, Cathy Clay, Tracy Burries-Hall, and Wanda Purnell are some of the featured guest for this event.
Experience a living novel when Young Audiences of Houston presents “Git on Board!” which portrays life of Harriet Tubman featuring Hope Shiver. Come, discuss, and hear excerpts from the authors’ various novels.
A reception will be held at The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts and the authors’ books will be on sale through the Barbara Bush Library Friends.
