The beloved co-creator of the Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, has passed away [2] at the age of 88. She and her husband Stan wrote hundreds of books [3] for children featuring the beloved bears. Their son, Mike Berenstain, plans to continue writing and illustrating future Berenstain Bears books.
