ESL for Shopping

Get to Know Your Plants

PlantJust how well do you know your plants?  Come show off your garden know-how at our upcoming Garden Club meeting on Thursday, 11/13 at 11:00am.  We'll be playing Name That Plant - with a prize for the garden know-it-all. 

ENGLISH CLASS

 Learn English through our online course, Mango Languages.  Class will be held every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in our computer lab.  Tutors will be available to assist with the class, and no registration is necessary.

Community Camp Out

CampingThe City of Katy Parks Department is hosting a new event coming up.  The Community Camp Out!  It's geared toward families with young children and will be held at VFW Park from 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 8 until 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 9.  Participants will be responsible for bringing their own tents, sleeping bags, etc.  The City will provide food and activities including an outdoor movie (Swiss Family Robinson), campfires, a story teller, and a tree planting lesson. There is no fee to participate, but they are asking folks to register in advance to make sure they have enough supplies on hand for everyone.  Contact the Parks Department at 281-391-4840 for further details and registration.

NOVEMBER 4TH TODDLER TIME

Due to the Katy Library being a designated polling place on Tuesday, November 4, we will offer only one Toddler Time at 10:15.  Weather permitting, storytime will take place outside in the garden.  If the weather does not cooperate, we’ll offer some quiet activities in the library.  

The Gen Squad Takes on Historical Maps

MapsOur Gen Squad lesson this month is coming up on Monday, 10/27, at 2:00pm.  We'll be learning how to find historical maps online.  Come ready to take notes.
