Wacky Science

Wacky ScienceAward winning show with more that just whiz, bang and poof! Presented by Mick Corley.  Science at its most fun!  Date: Tuesday, July 29, 3:00pm, ages 5 and up.  50 tickets will be given out 30 minutes before the show.  Children must be able to sit through the program without a parent present.

Tuesday: Nature Discovery Center

Trutles on a log in a lakeNature Discovery Center is coming Tuesday at 3 PM. Come and learn all about snakes, turtles and alligators.  They even bring live animals.  To attend please pick up a free program tickets available at the information desk starting one hour before the program begins.

Science Fair Featured Scientist

Food Preservation ScienceTuesday we had the brightest minds show up for the Katherine Tyra Science Fair.  Kids worked on their own science project and then presented their results.  Congrats to our Food Preservation Scientist for her hard work!

Are You An Animal Lover?

One more Thursday and boom it’s the end of July and we’ll step in August. Well, we can’t really stall August’s progress and we here at Barbara Bush Branch Library surely would like to start the new month with some fun and learning.

  Magician Julian Franklin visits Freeman Library on Thursday, July 24 for two funny and educational shows at 2:30 & 3:30 pm.   Julian combines magic, puppets, humor, and lots of fun facts in a wild and crazy show.  We'll explore Julian's backyard with lots of entertaining facts about how we use the scientific process in our daily lives.

Puppet Pizzazz! @NChannel Library

The summer isn't over yet! The library still has plenty of programs for babies, kids, and teens until school begins...including African Tales by Puppet Pizzazz!  The fun will start at 2:30pm on Wednesday, July 30, so come and cool off at North Channel Branch if you'd like to see giant, shadow, and recycled puppets. No tickets are required. Recommended for all ages. Please call the library at 281-457-1631 for groups or more information.
