3D Printing Service Begins in September

3D printing service begins in September at Freeman Branch Library!  Here are the basics:

  • - Print time may be scheduled upon first registering for and completing an orientation session. Call the library at 281-488-1906 or visit at 16616 Diana Lane to register. September orientation dates are 9/3, 9/11, 9/17, and 9/22 beginning at 7:00 PM. If orientation cannot be attended on any of the available dates, please speak with staff to determine if other arrangements can be made.

  • - Once orientation is complete, customers may schedule print time on either the MakerBot Replicator 2 or re:3D's Gigabot large-format printer by visiting the link www.hcpl.net/content/3d-printing-policy . Printing reservations will be taken beginning 9/4, following the first orientation session.
  •  
  • - Printing cost is 10 cents per gram and is payable by cash or check to the Friends of Freeman Library, who supply PLA filament (printing material).

The Lee Innovation Lab is still under development. In the meantime, we are pleased to begin offering this new service and experience to our customers thanks to our many supporters.

Wii Game Day

School’s in session! Homework has begun.  Stop by the North Channel Branch Library for a quick break and play games on the Wii.  We’ll be hanging out in the meeting room from 4:30 to 6 pm on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Eats & Treats Teen Baking Club

Come to Eats & Treats on Monday @ 4pm to make Banana Nut Bread.  All teens are welcome and will get to eat some of what they made!  

Who Am I? Teen Contest Winner!

 

Congratulations to the winner of our teen Who Am I? Contest: Kaylie Reynolds!  Kaylie was one of five teens who correctly identified 15 scientists from biographic clues.  After a random drawing she won the $50 gift card to Fandango.com, a movie ticket website.  Congratulations to everyone who entered!

Teens and Tweens: Have a Blast Dork Diaries-Style!

Back to school usually doesn't warrant a celebration but you can beat the back to school blues next Thursday, August 21st at 3pm with the Dork Diaries and the Atasocita Library! Join us for treats, games, prizes, and a challenge! 

Whovian Whoopla!

The Tardis is landing one more time this summer at Katherine Tyra.
The new season of Doctor Who starts August 23rd. This Monday, August 18th, join us at 4 pm to say goodbye to Matt Smith and hello to Peter Capaldi with Whovian themed foods.

Teen Hangs is back!

After a long hiatus for Summer Reading, Teen Hangs is returning! Starting this week every Monday at 3:00pm we're going to have game consoles, computers, and game tables set up for teen enjoyment. Oh, there's also snacks and drinks every week too. So it's probably the coolest best thing you could do Monday afternoons, so you should probably start coming and never stop.

Teen Summer Writing Contest Winners

writingOn Tuesday, the winners of the Sixth Annual Teen Summer Writing Contest were announced at a reception held at the Tomball Library.

TEEN PROGRAM: Anime Afternoon
