Trees For Houston @ Your Library!

Do you want to help the planet? Then join us this Thursday, August 14th at 3:00 PM in the Public Meeting Room for a down to earth program. Trees for Houston will be showing us how important it is to plant and protect trees in our neighborhood. We are going to have fun planting seeds and helping our planet.

Summer Reading Fun Starts June 2!

We are gearing up for another action-packed Summer Reading Program kicking off June 2 and running through August 9. This year, we focus on the lighter side of science because, like reading, it is all about discovery, and we’ll be offering programs designed to entertain, educate and spark your curiosity no matter what your age.

Here are just a few of the highlights:

Babies: Fizz Boom Read!
Sure, they’re not reading themselves yet, but encouraging early literacy is a big part of HCPL's mission. There are lots of fun activities you can do with your littlest ones that build skills needed for reading: read to your baby, of course, but also sing songs about your day, talk to your baby about what’s going on around you, and, most importantly, come to the library’s Baby Time programs to learn more!
