Anthony Horowitz [2]has been authorized by the Conan Doyle Estate to create some new stories and this created a lot of media buzz. Eager as I was to read some new Sherlock Holmes stories, I wasn’t sure that anyone could do justice to the original stories. However, in
[3]The House of Silk [3], Horowitz captures the tone, the nuance, and the characters and gets it right. In this story, Holmes has passed on and an elderly Watson takes up his pen to cover a shocking story. London art dealer Edmund Carstairs asks for help because he is being followed by a menacing figure. During the investigation, one of the Baker Street Irregulars is murdered and Holmes is even more determined to solve the case. I enjoyed this new tale and I think other Holmes devotees will also.
