Developing Strong Study Habits

Find a good place to study

It can be hard to find a quiet space in busy households, but clearing and creating a space dedicated to studying can help children stay focused on the work at hand. At many of our libraries you can find dedicated study spaces for students to use.

Minimize Distractions

Removing devices or electronics from view, turning off music, and asking siblings to play elsewhere can help children struggling with focusing on clearing their mind for their studies. Just make sure the space is still bright and comfortable.

Discover your learning style

All children learn differently, discover how your child responds to different teaching methods and find tools and resources at the library, to encourage their continued learning at home.

Ask for help

Teachers and librarians will be more than happy to help parents get involved in their child's educational journey. Just ask! Librarians can support learning by providing parents with references to specific study materials that is age appropriate.
