HCPL Connected Free Wi-Fi service will end on Friday, April 26, 2024

FINAL UPDATE: Harris County Public Library's HCPL Connected Free Wi-Fi service will end on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Our grant-funded ECF digital access program is ending. Beginning on Friday, HCPL Connected T-Mobile hotspots and Acer Chromebook laptops with built-in connectivity will no longer have internet service

Please note, this refers only to Wi-Fi hotspots and laptop computers distributed through the HCPL Connected program. Free Wi-Fi is always available at HCPL branches.

With the help of our partners, HCPL was able to provide free internet service a full 16 months beyond its scheduled end date, but funding is no longer available, and the program is shutting down. You DO NOT need to return devices to the library.

What You Can Do.

Though free service is ending, you do have options. Harris County Digital Navigators may be able to help you find affordable internet service.
