Please join us this Friday, April 9th from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Earl Elliot room. Our new knitting project, helmet liners, must be made of 100% wool.  For assistance with the pattern, please bring circular needles, brown, grey, black, tan or a combination of these colors and a dollop of perseverance. My goal is to have thirty ready for combat in September. If you would like to try this pattern at home,, has good instructions. We will mail the liners to a troop this fall, just before it gets cold in Afghanistan.

Giant Pumpkins to Grow in the Garden

This Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 4:30 pm in Children's Services we will plant giant pumpkin seeds that have been donated to the Garden Club. Our goal is for a pumpkin to exceed the world’s record of 1092 pounds! Come prepared to prepare the soil into a nutrient rich environment for these guys. We have ten seeds that first must be potted indoors. Each group will get one seed to nurture and love. When it is ready to plant we will have the garden ready for our new resident giants. These beautiful plants need lots of water and some shade. By Halloween we can start with one giant Jack-o-Lantern.
