Help With Income Tax Forms

Tax form 1040It’s time again to fill out those pesky income tax forms.  Fortunately, AARP volunteers trained by the IRS will once again be at the Fairbanks Library 3 days per week to help people complete and file their federal income tax forms.  There are no age or income requirements for receiving help from the volunteers.  They will be here from February 1 through April 14, Mondays from 1 pm - 5 pm, Thursdays from 1 pm - 5 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am - 2 pm.  The volunteers offer assistance only in person (not by telephone) and only on a first come, first served basis (no appointments).

Getting Ready for Income Tax Time

It’s that time of year again, the time for gathering together everything needed to prepare your income taxes--forms, instructions, and even advice or assistance.  Income tax forms and instructions should be arriving at the library sometime within the next month; however there are many other helpful resources, some of which are already available.  Printable forms, electronic filing information, and more can be found at IRS.GOV.  Free tax preparation will be provided at Fairbanks by the AARP on Saturdays 10 am-2 pm, and Mondays and Thursdays 1 pm-5 pm from February 1 through April 14.  More information, including additional locations and a list of what documents to bring with you, is provided at

Books about Martin Luther King, Jr.
