I had never thought about it that way. Then yesterday I saw two t-shirts, one that said, “Libraries: Recycling since 300 B.C.” and one that said, “Read Green: Borrow from Your Public Library.” Wow! Imagine all of the trees that have been saved by people sharing books (scrolls, manuscripts, etc.) through libraries in the past 2300 years. That’s a lot of trees. We were eco-friendly when eco-friendly wasn’t cool. And now we’re sharing CDs and DVDs, so that’s like recycling, too. FYI, November 15 is America Recycles Day. [Clipart © Jupiter Images.]
