About this Branch

Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library has played an important role in the community since 1986. Though the building flooded in Hurricane Harvey in 2017, it did not take long before staff set up outreaches, pop-up locations, and partnerships with Lone Star College North Harris, and Mercer Botanic Gardens. During the seven-year rebuilding process, the library took up temporary residence in what became known as the Little Blue Library, a 15' x 15' metal building, and later a space behind the Mercer Visitor Center dubbed The Little Community Library. Through it all, library staff continued to host programs and outreaches, offer circulation services, and more, all in the beautiful Mercer Botanic Gardens setting.

As of January 13, 2025, we have officially reopened in our main branch as a full-service library.
