HCPL Cooling Centers Open June 19 – 21

Some HCPL branches have been activated as cooling centers.

[Houston, Texas, June 18, 2026] -- Harris County Office of Homeland Security and  Emergency Management has activated cooling centers across Harris County for the coming weekend. Some HCPL branches are designated cooling centers. 

NOTE: Library services will not be available during cooling center hours, but library meeting rooms will be open to everyone who wants to escape the heat.
