Atascocita Branch Library Remains Closed

Holds for pickup at Atascocita Branch will be available at Kingwood Branch Library.

[Houston TX - July 24, 2024] -- Only Atascocita Branch Library remains closed due to power outage in the wake of Hurricane Beryl. At this time, HCPL does not have a time frame for when services will be restored. We will provide details here and on social media when they are available.

Holds placed by Atascocita Branch patrons will be available for pickup at Kingwood Branch Library. If you have placed a hold to be picked up at Atascocita, you will receive a notice when it is available at Kingwood Branch.

NOTE: Unfortunately, all items on the hold shelf when Hurricane Beryl hit suffered water damage and must be discarded. Those holds have gone back into the system and will be filled with the first available copy. You do not need to resubmit your hold request.

Kudos to HCPL staff

We want to take a moment to offer our heartfelt gratitude to all HCPL team members who stepped up last week and throughout the weekend to ensure that all the libraries that could be opened were open. Many of the folks working the libraries are struggling, along with thousands of other area residents, with power outages, storm damage, and other issues in the wake of Hurricane Beryl. Your dedication to helping Harris County residents in good times and tough times is amazing.
