Law Library and HCPL launch North Channel LAWPod

The public is invited to the ribbon-cutting for the newest LAWPod which brings free access to state of the art legal databases and one-on-one appointments with Law Library Librarians

Harris County Public Library and the Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library are celebrating another milestone in their drive to provide better, more equitable access to legal information, research assistance, and free one-on-one virtual appointments with law librarians to area residents. In short, LAWPods were created to help everyday people navigate the legal system with reliable information from specially trained library professionals and free access to the forms and legal resources they will need.

Join Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library, Harris County Public Library, Harris County Attorney’s Office, Harris County Precinct One, the Houston Bar Association and the Office of County Administration for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest LAWPod. Light refreshments will be provided.

What are LAWPods

The LAWPods are sound-dampening workspaces equipped with computer stations. These pods offer patrons access to the extensive legal resources available from the Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library. Services include assistance in finding legal forms, access to valuable research materials, and one-on-one video calls with a Law Librarian. LAWPods are also a valuable resource for area lawyers, giving them access to top-of-the-line legal resources including Westlaw, Lexis+, HeinOnline, Legal Information Reference Center
