Investing in the Community's Youth

The library is very appreciative of the ongoing partnership with the Tomball Economic Development Corporation. TEDC supports local businesses and organizations in Tomball through various initiatives that strengthen the Tomball community.

TEDC’s Executive Director Kelly Violette notes, “The Tomball Economic Development Corporation is proud to partner with the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library to create a safe and healthy space that invites teens to be creative with media and technology. From workshops on coding to virtually touching the stars with a state-of-the-art learning table, the new technology-focused space encourages teens to pursue their interests, gain expertise, and have meaningful experiences. Together we are investing in our youth by providing access to technology and equipment to inspire and encourage our future workforce.”

"We are so excited to reveal our new teen space. It is going to be an educational and recreational hub for our teens," says Young Adult Librarian Victoria Allums, "Just with what we have available now, we have already seen such an increase in interest and participation in the space. We cannot wait to show everyone the rest!"

“This is an amazing addition to our library,” says Janna Hoglund. “Because of TEDC’s generous donation, our Tomball youth will have access to unique resources that will support their development and promote collaboration and creativity. On behalf of the library team, I would like to express a deep appreciation to the TEDC team in bringing this important resource to our community!”
