Hispanic Heritage Month Book & Movie Club

Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this Saturday, October 10th! We will be showing a movie based on a book to commemorate this event. The movie will start promptly at 1:30 PM in our meeting room. If you would like further information on the movie title and rating information, please call our branch.

Friend’s of the Bear Creek Library Meeting

The next meeting will be held Monday, October 12th starting at 6:00pm. There will be a meet and greet with snacks and fun from 6:00 to 6:30. The meeting will begin at 6:30 and last for one hour. Final preparatins for the book sale will be discussed.  We hope you can join us!

Come by our Money Management and Personal Finance Seminar and get your dollars and cents in shape! The class will take place on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:30 in the meeting room. It’s free, so come enjoy the best deal in town and learn something you might not have known!

Teen Read Week Fanfiction Contest

 Teen Read Week is almost here again and Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek is celebrating with a Costume Party on October 21st at 6pm and a fanfiction contest.  The Fanfiction contest is for teens in grades 7-12.  The fanfiction must be 1,000 to 2,000 words in length and  an original work never before posted on a website.  KEEP IT CLEAN!  There are some authors who do not allow fanfiction of there work (i.e. Anne Rice), please respect their wishes.  KEEP IT CLEAN!  The Teen Advisory Board will be judging the contest, so to prevent prejudice do not use put your name on your entry.  KEEP IT CLEAN! The winners of the contest will be announced at the Costume Ball.  And remember to KEEP IT CLEAN!  All entries are due by October 10th, no exceptions.

Patrick is the new President of the Friends of the Bear Creek Library. The Friends meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. They support the library and make it possible for us to put on our programs. The Frineds are always looking for new members.  This is an invitation for you to become involved with your library. Membership is easy, and the rewards are many!
