You have probably noticed that the Katy Branch is right next to the Dog Park - we have a beautiful view right out our back windows!  Anyway, you won't believe your eyes when on Thursday, October 29th at 5:00 p.m., the park hosts HOWLaWeen, where dogs can enter costume contests and participate in tricks or treats.  All this for the admission of one bag of donated dog food per pet (will be donated to a local shelter.)  For details, visit the City of Katy website,

Black cats, pumpkins, and ghosts, oh my!  Join us for Halloween fun in our storytimes this month.

The Week @ the Katy Library – October 12th Edition

What you would miss if you didn’t come to the library this week……

Babies and their mothers singing and sort of reading.

Teens eating, talking on the phone, playing games, listening to music – and you can’t hear them!

Toddlers and preschoolers jumping, dancing, singing, and reading.

An adult discussion about establishing your personal, financial, and career goals – completely in Spanish.

Knitting and crocheting combined with current events and laughter.

Kids reading and singing in Spanish.

Adults learning to use the computer for the first time.

¡Mire! Look!

Take a look as you enter the Katy Branch Library at the colorful window displays commemorating Hispanic Heritage.  Don't wait too long - Hispanic Heritage Month ends on October 15!

Get set for Halloween this week by attending one of the Katy Branch Library storytimes featuring pumpkins.  Stories, such as The Plumply, Dumply Pumpkin by Mary Serfozo will get you in the mood for some pumpkin carving.
