Board games, manga & anime!

Calling all teens! Summer is almost over, but we've still got lots of great things happening at your library! If you're feeling "board," come to Tuesday's (20th) Vintage board games at 4:30.  If you're the more artistic type, then join us on Thursday, the 22nd, for Anime/Manga day. We'll have a chance to practice drawing manga and anime and watch some anime videos at 4:30.  And don't forget, there's still time to read your 5 books and receive a free book! All you have to do is sign up for the teen reading program! We'll see YOU at the library!

Two More Weeks of the Summer Reading Club!

Kids, have you received your Summer Reading Club Certificate? Remember if you registered either on-line at our website (www.hcpl.net) or in person between June 4 and August 7, and have completed reading either 10 books or 500 pages, you can get your certificate and a free book (while supplies last).

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the end of Summer Reading Club party, Monday, August 9 at 7 pm. This party is for the whole family with snacks and games!

LEED Silver Certification!

If you visit the library anytime soon, you may notice halfway up the stairs a new wall decoration:  our brand-new LEED Silver Certification emblem!  LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a recognized green building certification which focuses on five areas of sustainability, including sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.  Kingwood Branch Library officially received this certification two months ago, and now we have evidence of it proudly on display!
