Kids Celebrate National Aviation Week

As many of you know, we provide a special storytime for families. Twilight Tales is held every Monday night @ 7:00 p.m. and all ages are welcome. It has been my experience that children have a fascination with airplanes. So, this week we will be celebrating National Aviation Week.  Below are few ideas to extend your child's storytime experience.

Atascocita Writers' Group

Based on both the online and paper surveys, the verdict is for Mondays at 2:00 PM.  The first meeting of the Atascocita Writers' Group will be Monday, September 14.  All writers ages 18 and over are welcome to join us as we begin this new exploration.  We'll establish how often we will meet and the basic running of the group as well as share resources.

Open the Door to Learning

The summer has almost ended, and many parents are thinking about purchasing school supplies. Don’t forget to stop by the library to get a free library card!  Everyone knows that the library is a great resource for books, but we also have several other support tools available to help your child succeed at school.   A few of my favorites are  TumbleBooks for kids, and

Knit and Nosh SocietyStarting in the Fall, Atascocita Branch Library will host a knitting group for all knitters ages 18 and over, beginners to advanced. While you learn and share the craft of knitting, you’ll enjoy wonderful treats, beverages, and society.  We would like to know when knitters wish to meet.
