We had a display in February 2010 about the early days of Harris County Public Library.  There were pictures from the early days in the display case near the check-out desk.  Photographs were thanks to the Harris County Archives.

Harriet Tubman, in a dramatic portrayal, told her story of being a supporter, suffragist, and a spy during the Civil War!  Thursday, February 11, 4pm.  Ages: Pre-K to Adult.  Performance was by B. Renda, Houston's own vocalist and actress.

Let's Go the Opera Preview

Opera previously previewed: Britten's The Turn of the Screw.  Date of preview: Monday, February 1, 7pm.  Presenter: Ann Thompson.  Hope you attended this free, informative, enjoyable program. The Houston Grand Opera's production opened January 29.

Opera that was previewed: Puccini's Tosca. Date of preview: Monday, January 25, 7pm.  Plan to join this Let's Go To the Opera presentation by Ann Thompson as she previews Tosca.  The Houston Grand Opera production will open on January 22.
