Storytubes: Be A Star! Tuesday, February 2, 2010 4:30 P.M.

Storytubes is a national video contest for kids in grades K-12. Barbara Bush Library Children’s Services staff will help you film, edit, and enter your entry in this national competition. We’ll even supply the video equipment!  Here’s your chance to use your creative skills while talking about your favorite book, and have a chance to win great prizes. National African American Read-In, February 7

Fon JamesTakasha FransicOver a million readers of all ages and ethnic groups across the United States are expected to participate in the twentieth annual African American Read-In.  The Barbara Bush Library and the E.B.O.N.Y. organization will again join forces as offaicial co-sponsors of this event locally.  The goal is to make the celebration of African Ameraican literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.  On Sunday, February 7th, from 2:00pm--4:30 pm at the Barbara Bush Library and the Pearl Fincher Museum, activities are planned for adults, teens and children. Authors Dr. Josie Carr, Takasha Francis, and Fon James will be some of the featured guests.

Workforce Solutions Job Seminar

January 21, 1:30 – 3:30 pm - Rebranding Your Skills

Workforce Solutions will present a Job Search Workshop at the Barbara Bush Branch on January 21 from 1:30-3:30. The library is located at 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring.

“Expand your job search prospects by rebranding your skills. Exciting Silly Science Program Coming Soon for Children!

Kids will enjoy learning about things that explode during the next Silly Science meeting Tuesday, January 19 at 4:30pm in the Robin Bush Room.  The ever popular Silly Science program is always fun and informative for children 8 to 12 years of age.  So join us next week for an explosive time!
