Two cats
Meet Pierre & Camille

MEOW! June is national Adopt-a-Cat month because it is the peak of “kitten season”. During this month, there are a large number of kittens born and left at animal shelters. Many animal shelters are already full of feline friends in need of homes. It gets even more packed in June, which causes food & supplies shortages and less room to take in more animals.

cat on laptopI personally have two cats that are adopted, and my life wouldn’t be the same without them. I adopted Pierre in 2018 from El Gato Cat Café, which is associated with Friends for Life. In the following year, I adopted Camille from Citizens for Animal Protection. Pierre and Camille are a part of my family, and they’ve helped me through stressful times. They made my little apartment more like home, and I love coming home to them.

If you’re not sure where to start, there are many resources available! You can get in touch with your local animal shelter, visit your library for books, and find more information online. Below are resources that will help you participate in Adopt-a-Cat month. Adopt! Donate! Share! Your actions can make a difference. If you don’t believe it, just look at what Mohammad Alaa Aljaleel, opens a new window (aka the Cat Man of Aleppo) has done.
