Gulf Coast Reads selection "Remember Ben Clayton" available

It’s not October yet, but it’s a good time to pick up a copy of this year’s Gulf Coast Reads selection.

Computer Classes for October

The following computer classes will be offered in October:

Internet Basics I - presented on October 1, 3:00-4:30 p.m.

Internet Basics II - presented on October 3, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Internet Basics III - presented on October 13,  3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Internet Security Essentials - presented on October 15, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.


To register for classes you may either stop by the reference desk or phone the library at 281-484-2036 and one of the librarians will sign you up for the classes.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and participate in our activities.  On Friday, September 19, 2:30 p.m., we will be showing a movie that tells the story of a young Mexican boy who travels to the U.S. to find his mother after his grandmother passes away.  This movie can be seen again on Thursday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m.

On Friday, September 26 at 2:30 p.m. there will be a book discussion on "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" by Junot Diaz.

Moon Festival Craft

It's Moon Festival time!  Come and create your own dragon and paper lantern on Thursday, Sept. 11th from 4:00 - 5:30 P.M. in the library meeting room.

Reducing Stress Through Meditation

Join us on Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30 p.m. as Daya Sharma, who has been meditating for over 15 years, talks about the extraordinary effect of meditation to help reduce stress-related responses, improve concentration, and enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium.  He will also present a simple yet powerful meditation technique that can enrich one's life personally, professionally and spiritually.
